What We Do May Surprise You
Age Concern East Cheshire operates 21 different services addressing practical needs and promoting the well-being of older people in our area.
We touch the lives of over 1,500 people each and every week. Our services are cost-effectively delivered because we can rely on the support of 180 dedicated and caring volunteers.
From health walks and toe-nail cutting, through IT learning to home helps and day care sessions, our mission is to make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for all older people, their families and carers across East Cheshire.
We serve the needs of a growing and economically diverse older population having 14 areas that fall within the top 20% most deprived areas in England; these include both urban and rural neighbourhoods.
Eradicating the isolation felt by older people has benefits across the whole of society. Whether it be by holding a book club or helping with long-term care decisions, our aim is to offer practical help and emotional support to those who most deserve it.
That is why it's important that we raise £2m by 2011 to meet the needs of the very people who made East Cheshire the great place it is to live and work in today.
If you plan on getting old yourself or care for an older person - we'll be there to support you.
