Information and Advice  

Age Concern East Cheshire's Information and Advice Department has supported more than 5,500 people over the last year, including helping people to claim welfare benefits to the total of £679,839.50.  The Department is made up of the Information and Advice service, the Supporting You service, and the Long-term Care Hospital Discharge Service.

Information and Advice Service

We are committed to supporting older people and their carers by providing free, impartial, and confidential information and advice to anyone who might benefit from it.  When you use our service you can be assured of a professional and caring service accredited to Community Legal Services Quality Standards by the Legal Services Commission.

We offer a comprehensive series of free factsheets, our invaluable A to Z Guide to local services, as well as a wide range of local and national information.  Click on these links for Age Concern Factsheets and for Age Concern Information Sheets

We can assist with issues such as finding help at home, financial and legal matters, learning opportunities and much more.  Issues such as welfare benefits can be discussed in complete confidence over the telephone or at the office, and home visits are available, including help to complete claims forms.

In addition there is a wills surgery on the first Wednesday of every month from 2pm to 4pm at the Macclesfield office, and the last Tuesday of the month from 2pm to 4pm at the Wilmslow Methodist Church. 

Benefit Information Surgeries are held every week on a Thursday from 10am to 12noon. Please contact us for an appointment for the surgeries.
